If he can say it, so can we - and at this moment, good is losing badly to evil in this historic battle. At the highest levels of the political world, nothing significant is actually being done about the climate change crisis.
Except for Schwarzenegger's jurisdiction, that is particularly true when North American conservatives are involved: This Fall's congressional elections in the US included winning campaigns by several amazingly ignorant candidates - who happen to not believe climate change is happening. [ If they, or anyone reading this still cares to dispute reality, they should read the climate lists linked right here - and dispute it with those people. Meanwhile, back to the terminator:
Conservative denialism is taking over the conversation in US Congress, and in Canada, 'the Conservatives' are the governing party. The best they have produced in five years of government is an absurd program which might have begun reducing emissions no sooner than forty years from its inception. It was mocked by every honest critic who read the details. In other words, they do nothing - because that is how they want it.
Across North America, the conservatives have sided with the oil/coal/saudi/'fakescience money' - those that Arnold characterized as evil. And as long as they can gridlock governments, nothing will get done.
The single notable exception of those who have been labeled a conservative is outgoing Republican Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. ""When the economy is bad, environmental issues are vulnerable, and they see a great opportunity to move in and go for the kill," Schwarzenegger said, "It's a great battle between good and evil – it's like a movie. You have the villain dressed in dark black, and the good guys in white and green."
Schwarzenegger spoke those words - a week before Californians choose his successor as governor - in his campaign against the Proposition 23 ballot initiative brought by Texas oil refiners and the billionaire Koch brothers that would effectively kill off his climate change law - which requires 25% cuts in emissions levels by 2020.
Conservative tea party activists throughout California had coalesced around Proposition 23. In spite of all of that power and money and misguided effort, this time, Arnold won.
This one time, the 'evil' proposition failed.
In that way, it was a lot like a movie.

Further developments:
California is leading the way,
Emboldened by what Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called clean energy's "greatest referendum in history," California officials are pushing ahead with a new greenhouse gas deal with foreign countries.
Schwarzenegger on Monday launched his third Governors' Global Climate Summit at the University of California, Davis. He said this month's landslide defeat of Proposition 23, a ballot measure backed by oil companies that would have rolled back the state's landmark climate change law, shows broad support among voters for policies to cut greenhouse gases.
The two-day California climate summit, co-hosted by the United Nations, has attracted more than 1,500 attendees from more than 80 countries.
