Frank Cocozzelli’s quilt
Kossack luvsathoroughbred is undergoing chemo for an aggressive type of breast cancer. Because it is an aggressive type of cancer, the treatment is aggressive too – and extremely unpleasant. Luvsathoroughbred is in good spirits and is fighting to win. To help her do that, her friends want her to have a “love catcher” with lots and lots of support in it to cover herself with as she receives the chemo (they tend to keep those rooms chilly!).
back of Frank Cocozzelli’s quilt
What is a “love catcher”? It is a quilt containing messages from you written by me in archival ink on muslin. I need a grand total of either sixty-eight or seventy-two messages to make the pattern for luvsathoroughbred’s quilt. Right now, I have fifty-seven. If you would like to contribute a message and have not yet done so, please leave it in a comment below. The message needs to fit within a 4.5” square, so please, make it concise.
Here are a few messages that will be on her quilt to give you an idea of what we are looking for:
Your kind and gentle heart is appreciated by everyone who knows you. May the love and care you've given others come back to you a thousand-fold each time you wrap yourself in these stitched hugs. NonnyO
Dance through life and don't check the bottoms of your boots till you get home. You can always use what you picked up on the flowers. Love, high uintas
{{{{{{{{{luvsathoroughbred}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Many, many hugs to you for this next year and for all those after. Don't let it get you (as you said) and don't let it get you down. My thoughts are with you. Mytrinkets
May God grant you many years to live,
For sure he must be knowing.
The earth has angels all too few.
And heaven is overflowing.

You are greatly loved, and love is the blood of infinity. MillieNeon

we all start in the streams

May the river of dreams carry you to peace and love and health >phillygirl64
luvsathoroughbred, may you find the same comfort in this quilt that you have given to your brothers and sisters in GUS --- bsmechanic
Luvsathoroughbred’s quilt will be set much like andsarahtoo’s quilt – but instead of birds, she will have “Eccentric Star” blocks framing pictures of horses, pooties, and wozzles. The colors will be bright and varied.

It will be backed with a lotus leaf print in shades of pink:
All we need is the last few messages. This quilt is funded – but if you would like to pay forward to the next in the series, you can use this PayPal link or email me for a snail mail address for checks. I estimate the costs at $4/message for simple checkerboard quilts like Frank Cocozzelli’s, pictured above, or $5/message for the more complicated, pieced ones, like luvsathoroughbred’s. The next quilt will be for Charles StanleyCurtis, beloved spouse of Kitsap River who has taken such good care of his sweetie through terrible illness of the kidneys.
