This isn't much for a diary but I thought I'd post here on the chance someone would randomly see it.
I happened to be near the Pentagon on 9/11 and shot some footage in the immediate aftermath of the plane hitting it. Because I posted this on YouTube, I was recently contacted by someone working on a special for the History Channel focusing on the ground-level experiences of people in the DC area on 9/11. Basically, they feel like a lot has been done about NYC, and about what the president and other major newsmakers were doing on that day, but they want to make something to create a record of what normal people living in the DC area experienced on 9/11 and the days following.
So I'm passing the word everywhere that I post or read online, to see if anyone has any home-video or photographs from those days. It doesn't have to be something of the Pentagon, it could be something as innocuous as a child's birthday party or school play that was happening at the same time as events were unfolding that day, or footage of people gathered in a home or a public place later in the evening, anything that comes from everyday people.
I have no invested interest in this production, other than that I think it's a cool idea. If you think you might have something, please leave a comment but then send me an email (link is in my profile) and I will get back to you with the producer's contact info. I just don't want to post it here and wind up directing a lot of crank calls their way instead.
BTW, this show has no agenda and is in no-way connected to any 9/11 conspiracy theories or other such stuff. They just want to create a record of what it was like to be in or around DC when it happened.
This is a previous special the same people did about NYC, along the same lines--
