If you believe in fighting for MORE and BETTER Democrats, you are going to love this.
Joining us this evening is Ryan Bucchianeri, a Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in Pennsylvania's 12th district. Ryan will be staying with us for the next hour or so to answer any questions you may have. To learn more about Ryan's candidacy you can visit ryan2010.com, or you can just ask him yourself in the comments below.
This is what Democracy looks like. It's what I love. I hope you'll join in on the fun and show Ryan your support.
More below the fold.
About Ryan Bucchianeri.
Ryan is a seventh-generation Pennsylvanian and was born and raised in the district. He served as high school class president and was nationally recruited as a football All-American at Ringgold Senior High School in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
He is a 1997 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he received his commission as a naval officer. At Annapolis, he earned a degree in political science and lettered in NCAA Division I football. His career as an athlete and midshipman was featured in various national media including Sports Illustrated, The Washington Post Magazine, ABC Sports, Readers' Digest, and A Civil War: Army vs. Navy, a national best-seller.
Ryan served on active duty at sea on the USS Fife and USS Curtis Wilbur, and on land in the Middle East in support of Operations Southern Watch and Enduring Freedom. In the Middle East, he was part of the U.S. military's first response task force against Al-Qaeda in the immediate wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
After his transfer from active duty, Ryan earned a master's degree in public policy at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, where he focused on international security, political economy, and human rights. His major academic work addressed the genocide in Darfur and was incorporated into a report published by the International Crisis Group. Between his first and second years at the Kennedy School, Ryan served at the U.S. State Department, where he worked on European and Middle Eastern security policy.

His father served as a high school teacher and school board president, and is superintendent of an area public school district. Ryan's brother is founder of a real-estate development firm in Philadelphia, and his family operates a commercial development park in the district, which has housed more than 50 small businesses providing jobs for over 700 Pennsylvanians since 1949.

Why is Ryan Bucchianeri running for Congress? To find out, all you have to do is ask.
Of course, as the Master Of Ceremonies, I get to ask the first questions, which Ryan will answer in one of his first comments, and after that the floor will be yours . . . .
So . . . .
Here are my questions to Mr. Bucchianeri.
- Education: Both your Parents were teachers. Recently, a Utah State Senator suggested eliminating the 12th grade as a way to save their state money in the face of growing deficits. What do you think of this decision?
- Job Creation: High unemployment is causing suffering in American households nationwide and Pennsylvanians from your district are certainly not exempt from that fact. If elected, what policies would you fight for that would help remedy the current unemployment/underemployment crisis?
- National Security/Foreign Policy: As a Navy officer with humanitarian work experience who has traveled the world, how would your experiences benefit the constituents in your district and what do you think we can do to strengthen America's national security and foreign policy.
- Leadership: My father was a Navy man. He often spoke to me of the "Honor Code", a system that he held in the highest regards. My final question to you, Mr. Bucchianeri, is how will you bring back to Washington a sense of leadership, and what does leadership mean to you?
I would like to thank Ryan Bucchianeri for joining us this evening and for giving me the opportunity to conduct this interview.
I would also encourage those who support the idea of MORE and BETTER Democrats to make a donation to the Bucchianeri campaign with ActBlue if they can. I want to keep our Democratic majority in the House of Representatives, and I am sure you do too, so let's get started now. It is 2010, an election year. It's time to get Fired Up. I'm Ready To Go.
How about you?
The floor is yours,
Cheers
