If you thought the US and Europe were experiencing bad winter weather, Mongolia went through a drought last summer and the southern province of Dundgobi has been experiencing unbelievable cold and heavy snowfall since the beginning of the year. The temperatures have dropped below minus 50F and between one and one and 1/2 million livestock have already died due to the cold and snow. The herders no longer have food and no way of supporting themselves with no livestock to sell and have become the latest weather-related migrants moving to shacks on the outskirts of Ulan Bator, where 14,000 Red Cross volunteers are trying to feed them.
