I had to blink when I read it, but it's there --
A report that the reconciliation process for health care reform starts Monday.
Like all bills involving fiscal matters, it has to begin in the House.
Here's the basic report, as told by Politico
The House Budget Committee will begin marking up the reconciliation bill on Monday, beginning the first step in the legislative process to pass reform.
The Washington Post has the same basic timing:
Under the emerging plan, the House would accept the version of health-care reform that the Senate approved on Christmas Eve, along with adjustments to key provisions sought by House Democrats, mostly aimed at reducing the bill's financial burden on middle-class families. The process of moving the legislation through the House and Senate is expected to begin Monday in the House Budget Committee.
Reports are varying on whether Stupak will matter at all. But it is really looking like this thing is rolling forward.
This is incredible. It's really looking like they are going to get it done.
Reconciliation on Monday -- yeehaw!

Thanks for the Rec list, folks! And, as some have pointed out in comments, we cannot let up now. Make another round of phone calls to your Congresscritters. You know the right wing and insurance companies are not going to stop trying to kill this and we need to be out there.
