Say the Republicans.
...and now, no say the Democrats.
Just when you thought bipartisanship was dead, it roars back to life. It turns out that there is one thing Democrats and Republicans actually can agree on: not giving the public what they want.
It's been pretty obvious for weeks. A public option means a chink in the armor of a for-profit healthcare system. The Democrats really have refused to address that problem. They seem to be for a for-less-profit (at least while people are griping) healthcare system. Now, since nobody seems to want to take responsibility for doing what they all want to do, we're going to get steaksauce and finger-pointing on the issue.
Of course. Granted, we never expected the Republicans to say yes. They suck, we know it. But the Democrats were supposed to say yes to us. I voted for them to say yes. I guess corporate money > my vote. Damn.
