Glenn Nye is my Representative.
He voted "No" in November on HCR.
He is one of a few completely undecided votes. That should mean he can be flipped!
Local news station WVEC has a story up saying he is receiving a barrage of calls "from both sides" in the debate.
This story right here has Nye saying he has "a lot to weigh" between now and Sunday.
"I want to make sure this is right reform," Nye said in an interview in his Washington office. "I want to make sure this reform gets health care costs down and protects children's hospitals and protects TRICARE."
Nye's bread-and-butter issue has been the military, which makes sense in VA-02 which makes up Norfolk, Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore. Ton of Navy and other armed forces presence here. Nye is always jumping to help military families.
Well, perhaps any of our servicemembers here would like to let Mr. Nye know that you'd really like him to switch his vote and vote for this bill.
I've sent him countless emails and called before, and I am going to call his DC office again.
If Nye votes for it, he risks alienating conservatives in Virginia's moderate second district; if he votes against it, he alienates his base, though he would still have support among Democratic party leaders locally.
I'd like him to hear some support from outside VA-02, because frankly if he alienates his constituent base...the teabagging morons like Scott Rigell or Ben Loyola will recruit all the assistance they can to bodyslam him out of office if they can.
Nye is a smart man, and a hell of a lot better than the Bushie rubber stamp we had in Thelma Drake.
Since Nye by his own admission seems to actually be considering his vote "in play", I think he needs to hear things that don't sound like the foam-at-the-mouth ravings of lunatics.

Please Kossacks, help me help my Rep get on the right side of history. This isn't just for VA-02, this is for America.
