Apologies if this isn't much of a diary. I just want to share an analogy to the final chapters culminating in tonight's historic vote. And I turn one of the greatest moments in the history of college football: The Play.
With four seconds left in the 4th Quarter Republicans Stanford (conveniently for my analogy, wearing red) kick a field goal taking the lead by 41-59 20-19 over the the Cal Golden Bears (conveniently wearing blue). The clip below picks up, in the analogy, in the days following Scott Brown's election to the US Senate.
After Scott Brown was elected, the Republicans thought they had won the game. The had doused the coach in gatorade and the band ran out on to the field. But Nancy Pelosi and President Obama had a few laterals up their sleeves. We all know how that turned out now.
This night's victory was as improbable as "the most amazing, sensational, dramatic, heart-rending. . .exciting, thrilling finish in the history of college football."
