My daughter had an appointment with my family's dermatologist. We've been going to him for years, but only a day after a tyrannical majority in Congress passed Socialized Medicine through tricksy procedural trickery like recorded up-or-down votes and separately passed reconciliation packages, my family has already experienced the horrific way in which ObamaCare promises to interfere with the doctor-patient relationship for years to come. And it's begun EVEN BEFORE OBAMACARE HAS BECOME LAW!
The full story below the fold....
When the doctor came in to see my daughter, he almost immediately started complaining about healthcare reform. Of course, I didn't want to get into a political argument with our dermatologist. So I just grinned and bore the barrage of nonsense about the health insurance reform package.
Now, truth be told, this guy, while an excellent dermatologist who I'd happily recommend to anyone who asked, has never exactly been a bedside-manner star. But this conversation was unusually uncomfortable. And it's safe to say that I wouldn't have had it had the bill not passed the House last night. Given that the GOP is promising to continue their anti-HCR nonsense at least until November, I imagine that I'll be hearing more and more of this from my family's other medical providers, as most (though, happily, not all) of them are raging wingnuts.
Then again, given the global warming denialism and paeans to Sarah Palin that my dentist is capable of, maybe bitching about the government takeover of healthcare is actually an improvement in some cases!
