With growing anticipation, we welcome back Keith Olbermann.
Though these past four weeks have been momentous - with the passage of the Healthcare Reform Bill, the U.S. finally standing up to Israeli oppression of Palestinians, the continued implosion of the Republican Party and its sycophant lapdogs the Fox News (sic) Network, and myriad other victories small and large that all serve to advance our goals, there has been one crucial, clear, and clarion voice missing:
Keith Olbermann.
We understand and support that he needed the time away for his father who we love and cherish as both Keith's beloved mentor and as an example of all that is right with this world, but now we need Keith more than ever to voice the opinions that will become our opinions, to make the arguments that will become our arguments.
Momentum is on our side. The Republicans thought they would sabotage their chances of election in 2008 by running the absurd cartoon of McCain/Palin. They thought they would stick the Democrats with the disaster they created in the past eight years, and then would waltz back in to office after four years of (they thought) disaster and chaos from an untested greenhorn President with no Senate or leadership record to speak of.
Well how they were fooled. Obama and the Democrats have proven to be lions, and the Republicans are ever more desperately ruing the day they let the '08 election go. They will be a marginalized fringe party by '12.
And there is no more fitting television representative to the fighting lions the Democrats have become than Keith Olbermann.
Welcome back, Keith!
