This is from the campaign website. Not sure why David didn't post it here. Last day to donate for the end of the quarter. Let's help Jennifer Brunner's fundraising numbers. She is competitive in the polls. Not bashing Lee Fisher here, just a fan of Jennifer Brunner.
These are David Dettman's words. He is the campaign manager for Jennifer Brunner for U.S. Senate for Ohio.
Now It Begins
by David on 03.30.2010
Voting in Ohio begins today. Jennifer Brunner needs your vote in the Democratic primary. You can cast your vote for Jennifer right now, by mail or in person at your county board of elections. You can make sure you're registered by clicking here. You can download a voter registration form or an absentee ballot application to vote by mail by clicking here. Voter registration ends on Monday, April 5th, but you can vote now.
We know that Jennifer Brunner is the strongest Democratic candidate in the general election, and that's why we're encouraging you to vote now. Last week, a Public policy poll showed her within one point of Republican Rob Portman, but her primary opponent is down by five points in the same matchup. Today, another poll shows her trailing her primary opponent by several points in a race with 40% still undecided. We need her in Washington, and you can help her get there.
Just yesterday, health insurance companies started threatening to go to court so they don't have to insure our children with pre-existing health conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis or sickle cell disease. They're arguing that the language they use in their industry isn't covered in the new health care bill and that they can wait for 4 years to follow the law. They're looking to shirk the moral responsibilities they should have shouldered long ago, while they'll use the right to "speak" in campaigns as "people" with equal rights to further their own interests. It's no wonder the political landscape is imploding right now. They just don't get it. But most Ohioans do, and so does Jennifer.
If we want Jennifer to fight for us, she needs to win the Democratic primary May 4th. She needs your vote, and she needs your help . Last weekend, the Cleveland Plain Dealer called it this way: "Brunner's refusal to play by the rules of the old boys club is one of the things that makes her so refreshing as a candidate . . . She takes gutsy stands on issues . . . without Fisher's hesitation or maddening flood of modifiers." We know where Jennifer stands. She stands for us. Now, others need to know it, too.
Please help us step up our get-out-the-vote operations by contributing $5, $10, $25 or $50 dollars. Please help us cover the costs of getting out our message to Ohio Democratic voters by phone, by mail and by in person contact and more. If you can't afford to financially help us, you can get involved by volunteering. This is a campaign of courage. Be a part of helping elect a candidate who has shown "despite the party establishment's heavy-handed attempts to derail her," she is in it to fight with courage for the rest of us.
We do better financially with Dems. We are more free with Dems. We have more economic and social justice with Dems.
So all that said, Jennifer Brunner is on our side, the side of regular people.
We need someone on our side.
I volunteer for Jennifer Brunner.
Here is an excellent picture with Senator Ted Kennedy when she won the award for JFK Profiles in Courage.
