I wrote a diary and a follow up here about how our government's housing policy is cheating the poor. This was met with cat calls from the Dailykos mob. Interspersed amongst all the rudeness were a few intelligible comments. But I am really surprised that my diary received no support.
Whether or not our government's housing policy is cheating poor people(which nobody really bothered to refute in my previous diaries; the fact that some poor people may own real estate does not refute the fact our real estate policy cheats poor people), there is no question that our government's housing policy completely screws over renters, and it especially screws over renters with savings that want to buy a house. Further, there are plenty of renters and house buyers really pissed off at our government's housing policy, just take a look at patrick.net.
So where are the renters on Dailykos? When there is a diary written here standing up for the economic interests of renters, how come the renters head for the hills? It is bad enough that most people own houses which means the homeowners own the politicians. But should renters let the homeowners own this political blog?
