I will make this short, it's a basic fact of politics, give your time. That's what candidates really need, your time. You, making phone calls, walking the streets, answering the phones, anything. They need people to step up and give a few hours for someone they believe in. They need your time.
I have been a volunteer here in Ohio since John Kerry ran. I said yes once and have never been able to say no again. I have worked hundreds and hundreds of hours for Kerry, Ted Strickland & Sherrod Brown (a true wonder) and Barack Obama. I did anything and everything nearly every day for months and believe me it helped. I saw people on the phone talking, convincing people to vote for Barack, coming in and walking for hours handing out literature, convincing people to vote for him. That's what they need, a few hours of your time.
Sure, they would like your $20.00 bucks but I feel they would much rather have a few hours working for them, trying to get elected. Send your $20.00 bucks but do something more. Call and ask how you can help. Believe me, not only will you meet great people you will feel like you helped get your man/woman elected.
That is what I said to everyone that walked into the campaign office for Barack "Do you want to be able to say you helped, you made a difference when he wins?" It worked nearly every time.
Please, find someone you believe in (I believe in Barrack and Sherrod) and call or write and ask how you can help them win in November. You won't be sorry.
