And I'm not kidding. I've listened to these whacko nuts for years.
The recent spate of symbols of hate, hate speech, spitting on government officials, and proliferation of "militias" really has me frightened. Many of you may just be hearing about this for the first time on national news. I have heard it for years on a local call-in radio show. It started out innocently enough: Investigate the Federal Reserve. But it soon evolved into the illuminati, all government officials are one-worlders, etc. Mind you, this was all before 911. There was outrage about Waco and Ruby Ridge. Not on the government's side. Then Oklahoma City.
This same radio station airs one hour of the Power Hour, one hour of Stephanie Miller, three hours of ALEX JONES, and three hours of Ed Schultz. Guess which shows are most popular?
Then I heard Ed Schultz say today, after Hannity made his all the Tim McVeigh wannabes statement and the crowd clapped, that it was like this crowd was happy to be referred to this way. Well, yeah. They do.
I really only have one point to make: These tea partiers and anti-government sorts have as their heroes David Koresh, Randy Weaver, Tim McVeigh and the killer of Dr. Tiller, Scott Roeder. And all in the name of God.
I could scream. I'm a Christian, or thought I was. I cannot condone killing of humans. Period. And I certainly cannot condone killing of human beings who already exist. And I cannot wrap my brain around how these freaking pro-life warped brains can think it's okay to kill living, functioning people in the name of saving unborn babies.
I'm against abortion myself, but it is legal and I'm too old to have to worry about it any more. It does concern me that the only people concerned with it in government are white men. Hey fellas: You don't want abortion? Don't knock up the girl.
But all of this is such bullshit. I want MY country back. I want the sane country I grew up in back. I want it back now. I want it back from the Sarah Palins, the Michele Bachmanns, the Glenn Becks, the Rush Limbaughs, the John Boehners, the Eric Cantors. I want it back from the crazy right.
I'm sure the forefathers would be absolutely appalled that their Constitution has been so misconstrued.
