I know I shouldn't do this but dang, it . . .
Things have been so light-hearted and fun here lately, I thought I'd post a really serious, scathing indictment on everything and just possibly, everyone.
But then, I thought to myself: "Self? Why not live by your old motto: 'Better Living Through Chemistry'?"
And lo, I saw that it was good.
So, verily, unto yee, (you? y'all?) shall appear below the fold, actually a totally irrelevant and goofy diary in which everyone's encouraged to toss in a tune, video, photo, pootie pic -- whatever.
Oh, and some witticisms are always welcome and I know you guys got 'em. Now, it's onward . . . below the imaginary crease in the newspaper . . . but before you venture down, don't forget my motto, mentioned above! It will come in handy.
This first video, I think, illustrates the seriousness of this diary!
This next one is a tune I've always loved. I've played it a lot, myself, being an old drummer in an old, R&B band. It's Sam & Dave performing an Isaac Hayes song -- you might remember Isaac as "Chef" on South Park. He was a great and prolific songwriter as well:
I started out in love with rock and roll, though, and if you want to learn to play the drums, it can't hurt to listen to John Henry Bonham. I suspect no one would've wanted to go on stage after Led Zeppelin in their hay-day:
Ok . . .I know a lot of people here (That would be you, Kos!) aren't huge prog-rock fans, but as a drummer, I was always drawn to rhythmically complicated music with odd time signatures because it was challenging. While there are dozens of really good prog bands, I picked one of my old faves in part because their musicianship is incredible and, well, timing! Ladies and gentleman The Dixie Dregs (btw, the guitarist and violin players are a pilot and physician, respectively):
Now for the coup de grace. I always feel a little strange posting this pic because I don't like to brag about how smart my pooties are. You know . . . I wouldn't want anyone else to feel inferior about THEIR pootie(s). But here are two my my little Einsteins -- feel free to Pootie-On, Wayne!
Oh . . . I almost forgot!! One last Pootie Video! I told you guys this shit is serious!
Please add goofy stuff. I think we need some.
