I work as an organizer for the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC).
We at the PCCC believe there are lots of talented progressives out there who have skills candidates for Congress should be tapping into (beyond licking envelopes and making phone calls). We formed the Next Generation Of Talent initiative to connect these people and candidates together. This week alone, 5,000 people have signed up!
If you have skills that could help candidates, can you join our Next Generation Of Talent initiative today? Click here.
Joining is free -- and people of all ages can join. The PCCC is looking for people who want to volunteer their skills or do work for candidates. Skills we’re looking for: ad design, web design, video editing, communications, grassroots organizing, research, art/music, Spanish translation, and dozens more. (If you have time, and want to volunteer, that's a skill too!)

The Next Generation of Talent has already shown success. Several months ago, the PCCC started inviting regular people to lend their talent to the progressive cause. Drew McConville – a PCCC member from Massachusetts – volunteered his graphic design skills. During the public option fight, the PCCC needed to design a full-page New York Times ad. Instead of hiring an expensive DC consultant, we hired him.
Recently, he won the "Best Full Page Ad" of 2009 award from the American Association of Political Consultants -- beating all the DC consultants! The PCCC is now connecting thousands of regular people with skills to progressive congressional candidates -- we know there are a lot more people out there besides Drew.
See the whole list of skills that are needed -- and sign up today -- by clicking here.
Together, we can put our skills to good use and make sure that the money we give to progressive candidates is not wasted on bloated consultant costs.
Thanks so much for getting involved. And if you have talented friends, please do share this opportunity with them!

UPDATE: Thanks for putting this on the most recommended list! Please keep the rec's coming! :)
