Nevada Republican Sue Lowden, one of about 50 billion people running against Harry Reid, suggested this past weekend that people should have to barter for health care services.
While Sue glides around the state proclaiming Harry Reid is out of touch with the American people, she puts her own $50 million foot in her mouth with this ridiculous Palinesque scheme. Bartering for health care services is not realistic, in any way, shape or form.
"Here's $20 doc, now give me a new liver!"
Some Democrats in Nevada took her advice. Needless to say, bartering is easier said than done. No one was willing to take a goat in exchange for an H1N1 flu shot.
They stopped at Sue Lowden's campaign office. After making such a bold policy announcement, you'd think there'd be someone in the office to meet with constituents to defend and explain Sue's new health care plan, but no one was there to help, or take the goat. Just a lone staffer, who I'm sure wished she had some tequila in that red party cup on her desk.
Like Sarah Palin, Sue Lowden is a gimick. A multimillionaire who is a former beauty queen, news lady, union buster and casino-runner-into-the-ground...er. She has no plans and no experience to serve the people of Nevada in these desperate times. Like Danny Tarkanian and the dozens of other candidates who are trying to ride the wave of manufactured populist outrage to "retire" Harry Reid, they aren't in this race because they care about Nevada, they are in this race to get their 15 minutes of fame. Gimicks can win elections, but they can't get the job done. People of Nevada need to wake up, get out there and help Harry Reid win this election.
What has Sue Lowden ever done for the working people of Nevada? Nothing. She is bad for Nevada, bad for the US Senate, and bad for goats.
