Well, sometimes you love a poll, but you question the polling agency. In today's installment of what to believe, we have Bill White polling within striking distance of the Panderer from the Panhandle, aka Governor Rick Perry.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Texas voters finds Perry with 48% support. His Democratic opponent, former Houston Mayor Bill White, picks up 44% of the vote, his best showing to date. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) remain undecided.
More.
Any incumbent who earns less than 50% support at this stage of a campaign is considered potentially vulnerable.
Perry has hit 50% only once so far this year, in January just after White announced his candidacy.
Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Texas voters favor repeal of the health care plan while just 28% are opposed.
These figures include 58% who strongly favor repeal and 23% who strongly oppose it.
Perry picks up 75% of the votes of those who strongly favor repeal. White gets 89% of the votes of the smaller group who are strongly opposed.
So what we got here is a bunch of people against healthcare reform because of basically, Texas talk radio. It's something you have to hear to believe.
Since only 2% favor another candidate, any third party run by Medina is basically on the stagecoach with Slim. Which leaves a bunch of far-right conservatives ready to get Teabagged by Rick Perry like they were hot tubbing in the Governor's Mansion.
The flip flop of favorable ratings is definitely in Bill White's favor, and if he ever starts campaigning in earnest, we should expect those to rise. Hell, he might even flip the healthcare haters into the camp of the sane. But alas, this is Texas and people don't want the government telling their insurance company not to have death panels.
Overall, when fellow Texans are reminded more and more of Rick Perry's asshattery during his time as governor, the support behind White should uptick as they are reminded of what White stands for.
It's time to send Pandering Perry back to the Panhandle so he can carry on the fine Republican tradition of being a dashboard dimestore cowboy.
Go White!
