Noticed a post on twitter reminding me and others that Dr. Martin Luther King was shot down this date 1968.
I just wanted to post something for folks to lay down their thoughts and memories.
I was a 7 year-old child on an Air Force Base in Germany when this happened; only as I grew up did I begin to learn the significance of what had happened.
When I drive into Atlanta there is a large rusted steel relief sculpture of the famous Dr. King stance with his open hand in the air. I am literally reminded of him every day.
The Nation provides a little more substance for this.
