Obama lies, the silent majority will come out in droves in 2010, Obama isn’t an American, Obama is a socialist, Obama is destroying America, Obama is pushing Christianity out of our nation, Obama is ignoring the Constitution, Obama shifts the United States away from a free market economy, Obama is making our banks and corporations State owned, Obama is stealing our pensions, Obama is creating death panels, Obama is taking my health insurance away from me, Obama is welcoming terrorists to our country, Obama is increasing our taxes, Obama is Antichrist and Obama is Hitler all over again – Tell the king, "The Sky is Falling".
Even if I thought for one minute that all the above was true, I would still choose to vote for Barack Obama as my President over any of the current leadership in the GOP or in the so-called Tea Party.
I am one of those that voted overwhelmingly for Barack Obama in the 2008 November Presidential election cycle. I’m also one of those that have been sorely disappointed by the president’s actions or lack thereof over the past year and a half.
I am angry at the idea of him telling those of us that felt war crimes were committed during the Bush administration to, "Move Forward". I am angry that he is doing some of the same things Bush did with Halliburton no-bid contracts. I am angry that we are still in Iraq. I am angry that we still prosecute and ruin the lives of soldiers and Marines (our heroes) that happen to be gay or lesbian. I am angry that he is constantly backing down to a specific group of Republicans or so called Democrats in the hopes of getting their vote on a bill, only to find out after watering the bills down, they refuse to vote for the resulting bill. I am angry that we still have prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. I am angry that Obama continues to let the GOP and Tea party supporters walk all over him. I am angry that more Democrats aren’t out on the airwaves telling the nation what they’ve accomplished, what it means for our future.
However, I am pleased that President Obama and the Democratic Party stood their ground and passed a Recovery and Reinvestment bill saving our nation from going into the greatest depression in history. I am pleased by their actions that thousands of jobs were saved with our nation giving temporary loans to giant corporations to stay afloat, most of which have paid back those loans. I am pleased that we no longer torture prisoners. I am pleased that we no longer spy on American citizens without due cause and court approval. I am pleased that he passed the largest tax cut in history over a two year period. I am pleased to see many areas of our energy and environment improvements, such as the cars for clunkers and getting rid of old refrigerators, washers and dryers, heaters and air conditioners, roofs and having energy conserving measures being done on our homes. This administration will forever be known for improving our infrastructure with their Recovery and Reinvestment act. I’m also very pleased that something finally has been done to improve some of the wrongs with our health care and insurance systems. While the bill isn’t what I wanted, it is the first of many steps to be taken to fix it.
Billions are being spent and yes the deficit has increased a great deal; but at least the ‘reason’ for that increase this time around is for improvements to our nation finally. These improvements are finally helping the American people as a whole; Instead of feeding the wealthy more money and giving corporations more power or helping other countries with their nation building or for a war that was created for self personal or financial interests.
Yes sir, I will definitely vote Barack Obama back into office over any Republican or Tea Party supporter – they are the group of people you see that avoid taking on the hard issues. They would rather feed the children (voters) treats to get their smiles at the election booth instead.
Try not to forget the following folks, the GOP and some in that Tea Party are the ones that want to stop Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, unemployment checks and any social program currently available. They believe your neighbor or church will step up and support you instead. If you believe that, I've got a piece of land in the desert to sell you.
