I was wondering how I would inject this into my reality but with a hint from Miep I think I found a way of broaching the subject.
I like you more and more all the time, pantherq. I think you're an artist. I wouldn't say that to just anybody. It's a dangerous road. But you're already there, so what the hell.
Families have been likened to trees
But not if you are like me
Differences bring about mistrust
Causing connections to bust
Broken Branches
Communities are social units
Unless you are akin to a eunuch
Then you are apart
From that community’s heart
Broken Branches
Trust is something that is earned
That is one thing I have learned
As an outlier I can’t find that job
Instead I get thrown to the mob
Broken Branches
There are relations I have known
And seeds of love I have sown
In the fog I wasn’t alone
But now what was real is not known
Broken Branches
In the light of day I try and find my way
Where I’m going I cannot say
If I knew how to find my way
There would not be a trail of
Broken Branches
Sometimes we say we are on autopilot when we are doing the mundane. But when your mind is intentionally broken it is then that autopilot kicks in; for better or for worse. Like a riptide it has drug me from the shallows and the life preservers simply kept me afloat. Heroic measures may have kept me from being swept out to sea but I was left to swim back in on my own. On the way the cramps and chills left me breathless and disoriented; enough to confuse my direction but not my will to endure. I can espy the shore ahead but am unsure of which tack to take to prevent being swept out again. All the while I have to ignore the plaintive song from the rocky beach of the closest isles.
Bonus what’s for dinner;
12 roma tomatoes peeled
2 zucchini squash cut into ½ inch slices
3 cups spinach leaf
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon basil
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1-inch sprig rosemary chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
¼ cup onion chopped
Place in crock pot on low setting in the morning. Stir once an hour or so, until vegetables are softened and the sauce becomes thickened. Serve on your favorite pasta.
