Around this time last year, I took a month off from Dawn Chorus as my schedule got kinda full. The calendar is filling up for June again, especially weekends. Got a trip to Yosemite coming up, so I can warm up to the idea of turning 50. A bunch of weekends at our cabin, where we're on dialup only and it's even harder to deal with my fussy old computer. (Last weekend it was a power outage that kept me from posting, though.)
If you wanna post, you gotta stay on top of it.
Anyway, Dawn Chorus will be a bit sporadic over the next few months, more off than on. I need a bit of downtime and will be stepping away from the rest of DKos altogether for a month or two. My inclination is to just disappear away for a while, but there's such a nice group of people hanging out here on Sunday mornings that it wouldn't feel right to just vanish.
Running out of things to Say(s)
I love taking part in the discussions; it's a high point of the week. But I'm running dry on the writing and photos, and when putting it together starts to feel too much like work, then it's time to take a break. On top of it all, the story in the Gulf is really crushing me. I'm not a good serious writer, more of a social/community type. These days, it's just really hard to write anything that feels right.
If you've got a bird diary in you, maybe you can post it one of these Sunday mornings so everyone still has a nice place to gather. I might even post one if there's something worth sharing.
Lineatus will be back...
