Or something like that.

So, like the Financial industry, which fell on hard times, needed tax payer dollars, but wanted NO regulation, are we seeing the same case with the oil industry, something that ultimately ends with the need for regulation but they won't want it. Not even for the good of all animal species.
In this case, what is the government supposed to do? The fix is beyond money. The fix is ingenuity, technology, science, and ideas. Just goes to show how much has been being spent by these companies on R&D. Cost cutters and bottom line watchers all the way.
When did companies become lazy AND greedy? What happened to 'cutting edge?'
Where are the smart people? Science smart? I don't think the government has the technology on its own to fix a gusher from the earth's core. Their science seems to be political science.
And so now it all is taking time. Not one pundit with a voice and a mic has any patience because the answer isn't presenting itself. But they've got a lot of blame to go around. Except they seem to not want to put the blame where it lies, which is at the feet of the oil industry, the (non)regulators, the Dow Jones and such.
