Dr. Lori’s quilt
As many of you know, ulookarmless has faced cancer, stroke, and heart problems. He lost an arm to the cancer – and now it seems he has more health problems and is in the hospital right now. This gentle, noble, and valuable man has been through a lot, – and support from his community here at Daily Kos will doubtless give him strength for his fight.
Dr. Lori's quilt, showing backing
Let’s help ulookarmless by telling him how we feel – what he and the example he sets mean to us – and let’s wish him well. Leave a message in the comments below and I will transcribe them in archival ink on muslin, heat set the ink for permanence, and sew the messages into a colorful quilt that he can nap under, cuddle with, cry into if necessary, and basically keep all of us close to him. I will put a sleeve on the back so that he can hang it on the wall next to his bed if he wishes.

I figure the cost of producing such a quilt at $5/message – about the cost of sending a nice greeting card. If you would care to donate toward producing ulookarmless’ quilt, please use this PayPal link or email me for a snail mail address if you prefer to send a check. If you cannot afford to donate, please leave a message anyway. Someone will cover for you – this is a community effort, after all! Your message is important part of the project.
Charles CurtisStanley's quilt
I have begun work on Melody Townsel’s quilt and have dadanation’s quilt and riverlover’s in the queue – as well as a quilt for Chacounne’s late husband’s kidney donor, Furry Friend. I am going to slip ulookarmless’ quilt ahead, though, because his situation is very serious and immediate.
