Last week a group of Russian scientists reported that the effect of the oil spill could mean acid rains across North America that could devistate the entire continent.

And now there are reports of strange dots on crops that appear to have been caused by acid rain.
This is what was reported in the European times.
A greater danger involving Corexit 9500, and as outlined by Russian scientists in this report, is that with its 2.61ppm toxicity level, and when combined with the heating Gulf of Mexico waters, its molecules will be able to "phase transition" from their present liquid to a gaseous state allowing them to be absorbed into clouds and allowing their release as "toxic rain" upon all of Eastern North America.
Even worse, should a Katrina like tropical hurricane form in the Gulf of Mexico while tens of millions of gallons of Corexit 9500 are sitting on, or near, its surface the resulting "toxic rain" falling upon the North American continent could "theoretically" destroy all microbial life to any depth it reaches resulting in an "unimaginable environmental catastrophe" destroying all life forms from the "bottom of the evolutionary chart to the top".
Now watch this story about what is happening to crops in the Mississippi bottom.
From the video you can see that it looks as though drops of acid have landed on the plants. If you think acid rain isn't caused by the chemical dispersent, Corexit, please comment. This disaster is already reaching beyond devistating our oceans. If it is proven thaFrt this caused by the chemical dispersent, would these farmers be able to sue Nalco Holdings Company and BP too?
Discuss.
UPDATE: The story is now in the SF Gate.
From the Sanfransico Gate:
According to the Clark and George-Ares report, Corexit mixed with the higher gulf coast water temperatures becomes even more toxic. The UK's Marine Management Organization has banned Corexit so if there was a spill in the UK's North Sea, BP is banned from using Corexit.
The danger to humans can be expected. The warnings on the Corexit packaging is straightforward. Breathing in Corexit is not recommended.
