President Obama's "puff piece" threw me into utter disgust.
I usually support the President, even making excuses for him, but now I find myself disgusted, and discouraged. I am sure I'm not alone. There is too much gone way wrong in the Gulf, everything from a total lack of safety equipment for the cleanup workers, to the constant low balling of the spill, even when it appears that it was several times the level reported. BP, covering up, blocking media (and everyone else) from the worst hit sites, (even public beaches) is a travesty, and probably a crime. We need to start, yesterday, PROSECUTING the individuals who are endangering the cleanup workers, and 'take back' the sites that BP has placed 'off limits'. That local governments have been 'bought out' is a distinct possibility, one that demands Federal investigation, again, yesterday. BP is a criminal organization, and all their employees should be made aware of it, lest they too, be charged. The government should find the means to seize PB and all its assets, before they send it all overseas, if there is any way possible to do it.
The six month moratorium shold be extended for however long it takes to inspect every rig in the Gulf. That competent, honest inspections should be done is vital, and slipshod inspectors should be fired, and those who took bribes, etc. should be prosecuted, and given maximum sentences.
