I hate Meta. Sometimes they are interesting topics, but mostly a waste of time. Scratch that. The first three diaries are pretty good, then it turns into a good ole' pie fight. That is by my own clinical analysis.
Meanwhile, yesterday lots of us missed some good ole fashioned crazy. Follow me over the imaginary jump.
Want to see a meltdown? I know I do. Witness Texas State Representative Debbie Riddle in all her glory being interviewed by Anderson Cooper...
Edit 1.
Here's a transcript of what Riddle said, from 6:48 to 7:30 of the video below:
"It is common knowledge that over 81 percent of the babies that are born at LBJ Hospital right here in Houston are born of women who are not here legally. It is well known that women come over here, cross the border, in order to have the babies here. Because, once they get here and once that little American citizen is born and, and, becomes an anchor baby — and look, I'm a grandmother of 10, I love children — but the fact is: This is breaking the back of the taxpayers of Texas and the United States. It's taking down our health care, our education and, and it is, it is a huge, huge burden.",

the numbers were derived from women enrolled in a program providing emergency Medicaid services for non-citizens, it's unclear how many of those babies were born to undocumented mothers.
Now I am used to Repubs lying on the teevee every chance they get. I do have to ask one question. When they get on said teevee, supposedly representing their constituents, why are they allowed to lie at will? Why are they not under oath when they are using their official titles and speaking with the authority of their office?
Perhaps some of you J.D.s can help me out. I really want to know. If propaganda from your own state and federal government is against the law, why can those who make the law lie without consequence (other than looking realllllly stoopid)?
