Throughout this exhausting summer, that Ol' Devil CW has pumped the stock of a Republican Tidal Wave in this Fall's elections. Those of us who graze here in the Land O' Kos shake our heads sadly, pondering how any non-committable citizens could vote for that band of hypocrites and peddlers of failed ideologies.
One analytical facet which upholds the CW is the premise that, absent Obama at the head of the ticket, Democrats will be swamped by the Revenge of the Older and Whiter.
Two young activists penned an op-ed in today's Seattle Times. They beg to differ. Below the jump, let us read and discuss, and even differ (civilly, dammit!) about their argument.
Thomas Goldstein is executive director of the Washington Bus. Thomas Bates is vice president for civic engagement at Rock the Vote. In their op-ed they make bold to predict that the expectation of youth-vote collapse is unwise.

This fall, the wheels are in motion. All the pieces are in place for young voters to eclipse conventional wisdom and lay claim to the political firmament.
