In 1960 the world turned on the issue of Quemoy and Matsu. Two islands in the China Sea. Fifty years later, nobody even knows why.
Remember Quemoy and Matsu. 50 years ago the fate of the western world hinged on the United States position on the status of these two islands in the China Sea. Or so the Kennedy Nixon Debates would have you believe. Today, nobody even knows where the two islands are.
In 2004 and 2006 it was all about THE GAY. This year, not so much.
The question this year is all about a so called mosque at Ground Zero. But, the reality is that the so called mosque is in fact a community center with a cooking school, pool, and basketball court.
The Imman in charge of this project was vetted by the Bush administration and sent around the world after 9/11 as an American goodwill ambassador.
The monetary situation for the center is a building that has not been occupied since 9/11 and is not totally paid for. Half of the building has been bought, but the other half still needs to be paid for. To build the community center will require an estimated $100,000,000 dollars and the fund has only been able to raise $18,500 dollars to date.
This is not about the so called mosque which by the way is not as close as an existing mosque, nor the strip club across the street from Ground Zero.
No, this is all about votes and the gullible electorate who votes not on facts, but on stupid non-real issues like tea parties and what Sarah Palin is wearing.
