I've been a member of DKos for a few years and haven't posted any diaries. Mainly because I didn't think I had anything new or interesting to put up for public consumption.
Well things change and recently I've had an experience because of my readership here and my propensity to send e-mail that I would like to share.
I sent and e-mail to Center for Security Policy, brim@securefreedom.org in response to a recent diary here by TBTM Julie 'DEVELOPING: "Ground Zero Mosque" brought to you by DC Lobbyist firm, ties to "King Birther" Gaffney'. In my e-mail I wanted to let the good folks at Center for Security Policy know what I thought of them and that I knew who they were.
This e-mail drew a response I was not prepared for.
The next day I received and e-mail from David Yerushalmi general counsel for Center for Security Policy. Attached to the e-mail was a Threat response Letter. In the letter Mr.Yerushalmi accused me of communicating a physical threat to Christine Brim the secretary of that office where I sent me e-mail. He let me know that he was going to report me to the authorities and accuse me of committing a federal crime. He specified the crime he was accusing me of and recommended I retain legal counsel.
Well I was a little shaken, Then I thought, wait a minute I did not threaten anybody. I did not threaten physical harm to anyone. I realized it was a crock, that the FBI would probably not take any action. Still I had to wonder at an agency that has a reputation for harassing innocent people. See FBI I had just read this article at Truthout.org and it spooked me a little. Then I remembered I am not Howard Zinn, so I sent a reply to Mr. Yershalmi and told him politely to "Lick Me". There was no reply back so I figured it was over.
Wrong, a couple of day's later a got an e-mail from someone I didn't know JamesonLewis3rd [Jameson@JamesonLewis3rd.com] and he simply asked me "are you a Muslim?
My reply was "What are you? he responded back to me with a link, bigpeace.com The link is to a blog by Christine Brim (the secretary at Center for Security Policy). In the blog she describes how to respond to an e-mail threat. Her response to my e-mail and a blow by blow account of her calls to the FBI to have me criminalized are detailed as only a really good secretary could do.
Also detailed are my original e-mail to her and her attorney's response letter to me. She also decided to link the DKos diary that directed me to her and links to all my DKos comments on the subject. She is a thorough woman. The comments under her blog are telling. The ammount of times guns are mentioned and the mention of different favored models of guns to use when dealing with Prog's is really amazing.
What did I learn? Well I learned the FBI is not as frightened of me as Center for Security Policy and Christine Brim are. Also I learned a great deal from the frantic response to an e-mail where all I did was tell them that I could see them for what they were.
Bigots with money, the lowest of the low.
