The teabagger movement reminds me of the tale of Hansel and Gretal. These innocents are lost in the woods and in despair when they come upon a lovely little eatable cottage which offers them refuge from the horrors that surround them.
Little do they know that the cottage was created by Koch Industries and that if they remain, they will be destroyed in these deceptively inviting surroundings.
I watched some of the Glenn Beck rally coverage, and I came away this feeling -- Teabaggers don't have a clue.
And because reporters ask one question and no followup question, Teabaggers remain clueless.
Question: Why are you here?
Answer: To take back our country.
Followup question (not asked): Take back your country from what?
Question: Why are you here?
Answer: To restore our lost liberties.
Followup question (not asked): What liberties have disappeared since Obama took office?
Question: Why are you here?
Answer: To restore our country's honor.
Followup question (not asked): Do you mean the honor that we lost when we lied our way into second war and mismanaged the first war we started? Or do you mean the honor that we lost when we tortured people? Or do you mean the honor that we lost when, at the highest level of government, we committed treason by outing a CIA agent to punish her husband for exposing the lies that got us into the second war?
Anyway, you get the idea. Lazy talking heads not doing their job.
Here's what would help turn things around a little bit and maybe get Hansel and Gretal to see that about to be the main course for a couple of snot-nosed children of privilege.
Henceforth, let's refer to the teabagging movement as the Koch Industries Teabagging Republicans.
Progressive Democrats should should use this term and never miss the opportunity to point out that this is a phony movement designed to get the lame of brain to work against their own self interest to further enrich some of the least deserving on the planet.
