FAUX news is reporting the "Announcement of the Day"
ALERT!
The New Orleans Saints will not be playing football in New Orleans this WHOLE season!
Amidst all the hysteria, Shepard Smith has managed to slip this in, amidst "rioting," "chaos," "lawlessness across the city," and shots of a corpse on the highway.
Seriously though, I've been flipping across the news channels, and - though I'm sure I'll be pilloried for this - Faux has been the best. I'm not sure why it is, but between worshipful statements like "[P]Resident Bush is responding to this like a president commanding a WAR!" they've shown:
A man and his wife picking through the rubble of their home. He picks up an American flag, looks at it and throws it away with seeming disgust.
Reporters repeatedly talking about the response of FEMA and the rest of the govt isn't being felt on the ground at all right now.
Dead bodies on the ground, poor people crying, asking where their help is, returning to the reporter in the field and saying "Clearly, despite Bush saying so, help doesn't seem to be on the way."
Like the other night, CNN is worthless and MSNBC seems clueless. I hatehatehate to say it, but it looks like Faux news has beaten them to this one.
Which leaves me wondering if we've reached the apex here, and if we're going to finally start hearing some real hard criticism here....
