Do you realize that President Obama by passing the Health care bill alone, stand as the only President with such a domestic achievement. The President has the highest legislative success rate than any president ever in more than 50 years.
This is a President with such a substantial record of legislations, in my mind there will never be another President as competent as this unique President Barack Obama,
We have enough in our bank to counter any concerns of the American people, including the Republicans. If needed, we’ll bring out the entire collection.
Starting with the Stimulus package several policies are contained in the stimulus package, the President saved the nation and the world, here are some of the few policies that we benefited from the stimulus package; bare with me and let’s go through it;
Education- Billions for funding education, $5 billion in new funding for Head Start, $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion. In addition to the grants, college kids are actually getting a $ 1000 or more for laptop and school supplies, no excuse folk, education is the key to a successful future, education is top priority on the President’s agenda, "no kids left behind" this is just simply amazing.
Unemployment insurance for up to 99 weeks for the unemployed and modernized state UI programs to cover more of the unemployed.
Large new investments in the safety net, from food stamps (SNAP) to affordable housing to child care
Reform of the Justice Department, including the end of politicized appointments and a dramatic increase in enforcement by the Civil Rights Division
Auto industry rescue, which saved tens of thousands of jobs and stabilized the economies of Michigan and other auto-industry states
Gas mileage improvements, with requirements rising to 35mpg
Stimulus support for transit programs and hybrid / electric vehicle production
Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act (FERA), greatly strengthening protections against mortgage fraud
Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act, protecting against excessive rate increases and other abuses
The Signed the HIRE (Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment) Act, which provides incentives for small businesses and other measures
Stimulus funds for new smart grid investments and so many more.....
The Obama administration has spent $ 9.3 billion on approved 2,500 highway projects. in all 52 states, 260,000 jobs were created from this investment alone) and this year the government is set to approve even more projects than previously envisioned, folks; there will be more money available for additional transportation projects.
Let’s keep going!!! $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion. In addition to the grants, college kids are actually getting a $ 1000 or more for laptop and school supplies, no excuse folk, education is the key to a successful future, education is top priority for the President, this is just simply amazing.
Through the health care reform bill, the administration has set aside $19 billion from the stimulus package to help implement an electronic medical record system, with the new legislation; there will be no more duplication of services, or overly compensated insurance companies and their executives, no more confusing complicated
plans and phony supplements options exchanges triggers parts of a, b, c, d, etc...folks this is in addition to the hundreds of billions already reserved for the overhaul of the health care reform system.
keep in mind without the new Health Care legislation, we would still pay thousands of dollars per year to insurance companies, padding the pockets of their executives with excessive profits, and their employed doctors and lawyers, whose salaries’ and time could be going towards health care.
Let’s go into the finance industry; you are going to love me for this, I am not worry at all, democrats please relax Ha-ha, with the new financial legislation, Lenders now will have to disclose more information and borrowers will have to prove their ability to repay, the administration is not taking any chances, Government watchdogs will be under orders to look more suspiciously at risky behavior, the masters of high finance will find it harder to sidestep regulations.
The final legislation bill will be even tougher. The administration and Democrats in Congress squabbled over details on capital standards for banks and the breadth of restrictions on their derivatives business. Derivatives are financial instruments whose values change based on the price of some underlying investment. They were used for speculation, fueling the financial crisis. The legislation is a blend of specific prescriptive remedies that regulators must undertake and broader regulatory guidance. Also, The Federal Reserve will take into account in setting new limits on the fees that banks charge merchants who accept debit cards.
Also struggling Homeowners now have Loan Modification Programs available to help them prevent foreclosure and keep their homes.
The benefits of the loan modification program folks are that; you’ll be able to lower your interest rate, principal balance reductions, stop Foreclosure and keep your home, convert adjustable mortgages to safer conventional fixed rates, folks, You Do Not Need To Be Past Due In Order To Qualify, especially if your home value is Less than your mortgage balance, deal directly with your bank, avoid any third party, you will also get monthly payment reductions and even be able to get a waiver on late fees and penalties.
A lot of people that I talk to are now caught up on their past due mortgage and with easier payments, and their financial situation have improved.
For the automobile industry; The President has allocated $2 billion in stimulus cash for advanced batteries systems called "battery technology ", we are going green folks, we may even become the world's premier car manufacturer of those advanced batteries, hey this is America, we are born leaders.
We need to keep going; we have plenty in the bank, ha-ha!!! let’s go city wise folks, through the Recovery Act, the administration has secured $2 billion for Byrne Grants, which funds anti-gang and anti-gun task forces, folks this money was cut during the Bush years, President Obama is very concern about our safety, hopefully we are expected to have massive ramifications on inner-city crime and violence, folks we need to keep going,
Let’s talk about our environment folks, President Obama signed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 in late March of this year and have put under federal protection more than two million acres of wilderness, thousands of miles of river and a host of national trails and parks. This conservation effort folks, is-the largest in the last 15 years.
BP Oil Spill- Crews working on the leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico are in position to put a containment cap over the well, said "retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, the man in charge of the federal response team. He also said once the cap is placed on the well, scientists will be able to gauge the pressure inside the well, then determine whether the cap is holding the oil in or if crews will need to continue siphoning up oil. While robots replace the old cap, crude is still leaking out about 35,000 to 60,000 barrels of oil daily, some of that gushing oil should be collected soon, said BP's Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles, He also mentioned the oil-gathering ship the Helix Producer should begin collection of oil from the ruptured well, and should ramp up to full capacity" in a few days. The containment cap will have the ability to actually close down the valves and slowly contain all the oil.
The visits and meetings of the presidential commission appointed by Mr. Obama including himself, have helped lay the groundwork for efforts to keep going forward, and determine what really needed to concentrate on and where to put the priorities, we are finally moving forward, the President did an excellent job, his response has been very effective.
The Presidential commission established by President Obama will also determine what happened when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded April 20, leading to the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history and how to prevent something similar from ever happening again.
Let’s go international; President Obama's engagement with the Muslim world has been at once remarkable and much appreciated, he has been able to dramatically change America's image in that region, the administration has secured $5 billion in aid commitments to bolster Pakistan country's economy and help it fight terror and Islamic radicalism" within the country. The help is crucial in bringing the nation away from the brink of failure and increased Taliban control.
The President is also pressing hard for Israel to loosen its "unsustainable" grip on Gaza, and the United States will contribute $400 million in development aid to the Palestinian, and we must note this time that thanks to President Obama, the money will be used to build housing, schools, water facilities and health care systems in both the Palestinian Authority-controlled West Bank and Gaza (which is ruled by the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas).
The President and his allies have slapped Iran with the toughest sanctions bill ever, stopping Iran from becoming a threat to the national security of the United States and our allies in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. A nuclear armed Iran would have destroyed the fabric of the nuclear non-proliferation regime and deeply undermine global stability. Iran is the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism.
Huge improvements in Iraq; the overall number of security incidents in Iraq has declined in eight of the past 12 weeks, with the number of incidents in the last two weeks at the lowest levels seen since June 2006. Reasons for the decline in incidence are that coalition and Iraqi forces have dealt significant blows to al Qaeda based in Iraq, they have taken away a number of their sanctuaries and gained the initiative in many areas.
They have also disrupted Shiite militia extremists, captured the head and numerous other leaders of the Iranian-supportive special groups, along with a senior Lebanese Hezbollah operative supporting Iran's activities in Iraq.
Coalition and Iraqi operations have helped reduce ethno-sectarian violence as well, bringing down the number of ethno-sectarian deaths substantially in Baghdad and across Iraq since the height of the sectarian violence last December. The number of overall civilian deaths has also declined during this period
Based on all this progress, the President wants to reduce our forces in the region to the pre-surge level of brigade combat teams by next summer without jeopardizing the security gains that we have fought so hard to achieve; this is not an easy war folks, the situation in Iraq remains complex, but I strongly believe that the President is going to achieve his objectives in Iraq over time; it won’t be quick nor easy.
Keep in mind that what I have mentioned is just a fraction of the President’s accomplishments during his two years term.
We should take a moment and appreciate the enormity of President Obama accomplishments, a lot has been done, even if you were a blind Republican, you couldn’t ignore his triumphs, but of course much more is needed; we have two wars going on, we have more than a trillion dollars of government spending, we are still in the so called "dip recession", we now have the on going Gulf of Mexico oil spill, unemployment is still high, people are angry, they want faster results, I also noticed from the people I talk to on a regular basis that some of them are in a foul mood and may not inclined to see the great victories and achievements of President Obama, I understand that, but we should never give up, help is on the way, we just have to trust our President and do our part, we have to stay focus and get moving.
The President is eager more than ever to resolve those crises, and will lay out a specific agenda about what the federal government intends to do over the next few months to bring an end to those crises. Nothing will occur over night, we need to be patient and supportive of the President, this is a world crisis that the President is dealing with.
Republicans keep criticizing President Obama (and that’s all they do by the way) for driving up the federal deficit, which they say hinders economic recovery and threatens future stability, much of the money given to banks have been paid back with interest, trust me they know that, and the President is pursuing a temporary tax on bailed out financial institutions in order to recover the rest, folks; not only the stimulus package saved America, but it also rescued the world economy from collapsing.
If we did not spend money and did nothing, how would we face and halt this current so called "dip recession"? How could we have brought relief to million of people in need, tell me how? That government spending was crucial and essential. President Obama has appointed a deficit reduction commission, which will devise a long-term strategy for balancing the federal deficit books.
Rest assure that we are heading in the right direction, we need to keep moving forward, the President has a lot on his plate, we must stand with the President ensuring that not only America recovers, but prospers also, "this nation must lead the industries of the future," said President Obama, and we will, assisted with the "Grace" of the Lord.
Love and peace,
C. Nicolas
