Last night, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert announced dueling rallies in Washington D.C. on October 30th. Stewart's will be the "Rally to Restore Sanity" and Colbert, for his part, will host the "March to Keep Fear Alive." Both have encouraged their viewers to attend and to bring signs appropriate to their particular rallies.
Apart from the fact that the goal should be to DOUBLE the number of attendees that went to see the Beck/Palin Snore-a-pa-looza last month, the question is...
...what will YOUR sign say?
Stewart offered up an example of the kind of sign he'd like to see at his rally, such as "I Disagree With You...But I'm Pretty Sure You're Not Hitler" and "I am not afraid of Muslims/Tea Partiers/Socialists/ Immigrants/Gun Owners/Gays...But I am Scared of Spiders."
Colbert's supporters will likely carry pseudo-inflammatory signs like "Recycling Is a Socialist Plot" and "Obama = Atheist Muslim" and that sort of thing.
Me? I'm going to be on the Stewart side, I believe, and my sign will say, simply: "What Do We Want? SANITY! When Do We Want It? As Soon As Is Reasonably Convenient!"
And you?
