The Republicans say in their "Pledge" that it was "Built through a process of listening to the people, this is our Pledge to America."
Remember "America Speaking Out"? That's the public platform created by the GOP to hear what America wanted them to work on, what mattered to actual Republicans, and anyone who might care enough to find the Web site. Turns out they don't really care what America wants. Here's Think Progress's Lee Fang:
As the Wonk Room’s Pat Garofalo reported last week, the second most popular item on the “job creation” section of America Speaking out was the user-submitted idea to “Stop the outsourcing of jobs from America to other countries that do not pay taxes into the U.S. and stop the tax breaks that are given to these companies that are outsourcing."
Guess what's not in the Pledge? Yep, there's nothing about "Stopping the outsourcing of jobs from America to other countries that do not pay taxes into the U.S. and stop the tax breaks that are given to these companies that are outsourcing."
As of this morning, when the Republicans were polishing up their "Pledge" to release to all of America, stopping outsourcing of jobs and ending the tax breaks that these outsourcing companies receive was the number one idea on the Web site. TP got a screen shot:
While, ending these tax breaks is not in the pledge. But there is lots of talk of tax cuts for "small business."
