On Tuesday night, President Obama addressed the American people from his newly-redecorated Oval Office to declare an end to combat operations in Iraq.
And in true Orwellian fashion, Obama failed to credit his should-be BFF with having the guts to avenge 9/11 by launching a war against a country that wasn't involved.
But I guess that's to be expected from a President who's just not that into America.

Elsewhere:
At a town hall event of his, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) revealed his true feelings about governmental case Newt Gingrich.
Coburn made it clear that he won’t be on Newt Gingrich's 2012 presidential bandwagon. Gingrich "is a super-smart man, but he doesn’t know anything about commitment to marriage," he said of the thrice-married former House speaker. "He's the last person I'd vote for for president of the United States. His life indicates he does not have a commitment to the character traits necessary to be a great president."
Meanwhile:
Gingrich's prospective 2012 primary rival, Sarah Palin, was the subject of a lengthy Vanity Fair profile and web-only companion piece which shed some new light on her $150,000 RNC shopping spree.
The records of those purchases also reveal that Palin’s later claims — that "we had three days of using clothes that the RNC purchased" (at the Republican National Convention) and that she understood the clothes to have been "loaned to us during the convention" — were completely false. So was the spin of Palin’s campaign spokesperson, who stated on October 22 that "it was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."
On October 23, in a previously unpublished e-mail, Palin wrote that she had no idea the clothes would eventually need to be returned, and suggested that she believed the items were being given to her and her family as gifts.
Although Palin fancies herself above the lame-stream media, Vanity Fair's reporting still managed to get a rise out of her.
And in related news:
Teenage cautionary tale Bristol Palin signed on to dance with the stars, but one of her demands might burst some viewers' bubbles.
The "Dancing with the Stars" cast member will steer clear of the skimpy outfits favored by many of the ABC show’s female contestants when she hits the dance floor on Sept. 20.
"I think I will be the most dressed [contestant and have] the most modest outfits for sure because that's who I am," she told People.com. [...]
Despite her recent claim that she wants to make this experience positive, rumors are swirling that Palin has been christened this year’s diva, drawing comparisons to last year’s Kate Gosselin, whose partner quit briefly over her behavior.
