I hate peotry,
I hate music,
especially the very best,
the greatest,
classical music,
and the jazz,
the jazz that makes me feel
just right.
I hate it all,
even though I love it.
I hate it all,
for the same reason
I hate the faces
of the pooties,
especially the kittens,
the ultimate in cute,
and human children,
the ultimate in cute,
I hate them all,
even though
I feel
the same thing you feel
when I see them.
I hate them
because
they lie to us
about ourselves.
These things, this art, this music, these faces,
they lie to us.
They make us feel
that we are special,
that we are sacred.
They make every one of us,
and everything we do
into sacred cows,
that cannot be harmed.
We are dirty, crude animals.
We eat, we shit, we fuck.
And if we are going to help each other,
we need to be ready to treat any one of us,
and, especially,
any ideas any of us have,
as not imprtant,
not sacred.
We must look at the big picture.
If you really love my poetry,
I hate it.
I hate it because I feel
that you may just lay back
and enjoy my poetry.
We need to agree on one philosophy.
We need to reduce the population of humans on this planet,
and that is the most urgent of emergencies.
We need to change the economic system.
We need to change the political system.
If we all just lay back
and enjoy my poetry,
that act of relaxing,
too much relaxing,
will kill our grandchildren,
as they fight over food,
and they kill each other.
On Burning Books, and Burning Flags:
I think I would very much enjoy
burning some books
and some flags.
I want to burn some Bibles,
we have plenty,
some Jewish scrolls,
some Qurans,
and most flags,
lots of USA flags,
but maybe not any
UN flags,
USSR flags,
People's Republic of China flags,
Cuban flags.
But if I burned books and flags,
I would want to write poems,
and give speeches,
I would want to explain,
that we need to make changes.
I would want to explain.
But I fear I would be,
as the Bible says,
casting pearls of wisdom
before swine who sell soundbites,
and the only message would be:
"bigjac burned books and flags."
