The day after the FBI released information about a bomb placed on a bench along the route of a Washington state MLK celebration March, My mind succumbed to more wonderment.
(Gotta stop this wondering mind).
The bomb was specifically designed and constructed to do great bodily harm (probable death)and placed next to a brick wall. Anyone who has any background in arms, the military, or simply watches television knows that such placement ensures maximum explosive force in the opposite direction from the wall. (INTO THE STREET). The bomb is a remote controlled device and seems much like an IED (IRAN, Afghanistan and IRAQ type devices).
Two points:
First, if I watched or listened to FOX NEWS, I am to believe that "all things terrorist are Muslim". There is a nasty piece of baggage that accompanies that bigoted remark: Racism. Most people do not think about the large number of people in non-middle eastern nations who are Muslim by faith. (Think about Eastern Europe and much of Polynesia) I wonder why a Muslim would want to plant an IED on the parade route of a MLK celebration. (America the Beautiful).
Second, what states seem to have the greatest degree of tolerance for people who are outside of the scope of those some consider 'true
Americans','or patriots'?
The following information is interesting and a bit surprising in a couple of areas.

While I am much in favor of the thought that we need to become a much more civil and congenial nation, I will state that I think it now impossible in the current political climate. That said, I will posit that political climates have major influence over our social climate; a prospect that is frightful.
The bomb and its placement?
The device was obviously placed to maim or kill people. I may be wrong but there are thoughts that journey through the mind that fall into the realm of this question?. What might be the physical make-up of the majority of people who might attend a MLK march/parade/celebration?
Outside of the Uni-bomber and the anti-abortion bombers, I have heard of few such bombings across the nation. Of course, one can reflect back to the 1960's and the Weather Underground; a bit far back.
Since, I cannot find statistics related to those who lose their minds (GO crazy) and the design and construct of IED's, I must wonder about the following prospect.
While I am very much in favor of the thought that we need to become a much more civil and congenial nation, I will state that I think it now impossible in the current political climate.
The Pardu two paragraphs up......
And Maddow spent moderate time on the story last evening while mentioning that the story is garnering little attention nationally.
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
