Thank you.
Before DK4 goes up, I wanted to say thank you to this community.
I’ve been ill for quite some years now from a very common problem, a large gallstone is causing me a lot of pain. Without health insurance or regular employment (other than the Community Quilt Project), I could not see a way to get it taken care of.
Recently, the pain become really severe and I looked for options. And I found that for people in my situation (and I know we are many), the message that one gets from trying to navigate a broken "system" is "You can’t get there from here."
But you – this family of friends online – you cut through my snarl of troubles and every bureaucratic Gordian knot like a hot knife through butter. I am overwhelmed and so thankful.
Thank you, Nurse Kelley, for being my guiding light. Thank you, iriti, Timroff, Ebby, and weBranding, for your diaries gathering support for me. Thank you, each and everyone who contributed to my cause and who has sent their prayers and good thoughts. Thank you, Oke, for coming to look after me when I am just out of surgery. Thank you, llbear, for being my knight. Thank you, mimi, for your commissions that kept me afloat through a hard time.
You have all invested in me and I look forward to recovering my health and working hard on the Community Quilt Project. I hope to do you proud.
This community is awesome. When it comes together, the force of its resolve has the power to solve huge problems. This time, the problem had to do with one individual – me. But the power is not limited – it really is not.
I love you.
Namaste
P.S. DO WHAT NURSE KELLEY SEZ! You won't regret it! I am living proof!
