I have been on hold with Time Warner for almost 35 minutes. They over charged me, my phone service and televison are out and they are not answering the phone. How is this good service? Oh and I cannot go to another company because they have a monopoly in Los Angeles
Give me a fucking break. This Time Warner is total bullshit. They do a shitty job at customer service, they are way too expensive and thier product sucks. Yet, this is the America we live in. An America where private companies like Time Warner can screw me out of money and I have no recourse. They can charge me for a service that doesn't work. They can offer to send out someone to fix my crappy equipment during a window of time that is totally inconvenient. Then when to dude shows up he leaves without getting it right because he doesn't have the right equipment so I need to sit on my ass for another day while they get it all figured out.
How is this any sort of example of private free market working? Time Warner sucks ass. I would much rather have the government run cable. They would spend no money on advertising, no money goes to a fat cat CEO and even if the customer service was still shitty at least it would be cheaper. Right? Maybe the revenue would go toward good paying union jobs for the people who worked for the gov cable company. Maybe the Gov could pay for for the installation of new high speed cable lines all over the country to get us up to speed with the rest of the world. Maybe the gov would make sure the internet remained open and equal?
I just don't see the private market as doing any sort of great service to our country. Companies like Time Warner are a perfect example of shit companies doing a shit job with a monopoly on a product that basically sells itself.
When will Americans realize that Government is NOT the problem? I just don't understand why Americans love getting screwed by corporations? You can fire a politician but not a CEO.
