A conference committee will meet at 6 PM central in Madison. The apparent purpose of this odd conference committee is to take the controversial budget repair bill and split it into two different bills, one of which will remove all fiscal policy and only deal with removing bargaining rights from the public unions. The intention here is to be able to pass the bill without a quorum in the Senate, thereby bypassing the problems with not having the Democratic Senators in the state.
After the earlier admission in the day by Scott Rassmussen that the entire purpose of the bill is to defund the Democratic party and making it difficult for Obama to win in 2012, this is a bald-faced move to push through a bill that has only political motivation. This move appears to be being forced by the fact that some of the Senate Republicans are becoming soft on the issue, and may have either voted against the bill or requested amendments.
We fully expect a large turnout of protesters at the Capitol tonight, regardless of the new rules regulating protests at the capitol.
