Reuters is reporting that temperatures in a pressure container in reactor No. 1 have climbed to near 400 degrees Celsius. This is some 80 degrees above the design limit.

After detecting iodine-131 levels exceeding 100 becquerels per kilogram in five locations in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan's health ministry has advised residents to avoid giving infants water or using it in powered milk. The prime minister has also informed citizens to refrain from consuming leafy vegetables in the prefecture.
