A Morrisey gold record? A Neil Young print, #13 of just 15 made? Who gives this kinda stuff for the Progressive Congress News fundraiser auction?
Well, some guy named Howie Klein who runs Down With Tyranny has apparently taken a liking to us, and that wasn’t the only good stuff that people have provided.
Morrisey’s Gold Record for Bona Drag
Neil Young Print 13/15 Limited Edition
Here are a few other tidbits from the auction list …
A signed doodle from Congressman Grijalva.
A Florida 2000 election machine, complete with hanging chads.
A signed Markos book.
A Paul Wellstone t-shirt.
There's a bunch of other swag on the list - I even see some Brit political memorabilia in there. Word is these auctions will usually have 100+ items so these are just the things that caught my eye right away.
I’ve been asking for donations for Progressive Congress News since we officially launched it the day after the 2010 midterm, but this is the first time we’ve done anything like this.
I guess some other people besides Howie like what we’re doing - honorary co-chairs for this auction are Markos Moulitsas and Congressman Grijalva.
I asked Beth when this was happening and she said …
Auction Dates: Mon 4/11 9 am EST till 11:59 pm Fri 4/15
Oh, thanks to Netroots Nation, too - can’t say more than that, but someone went the extra mile to make this happen.
We’ve been doing that whole policy news for over 600 Congressional staffers thing for a while now and it costs us about $100/month for the Salsa service. No, wait, it costs Darcy $100/month if we don’t raise enough to cover it. We do have to go to D.C. from time to time, meeting people, and we do it on the cheap but even so train tickets are $250 round trip.
I don’t know what else to say here. Beth says we need more stuff to auction, you can DONATE COOL STUFF by clicking that link.
