Lately, I haven't really posted many diaries. Why? Well, I'm not so prolific a writer as I would imagine I am some days. I'm just a guy from the Pacific Northwest that is slowly becoming more politically and socially aware, all the while still living my life as the hard-fighting, marathon-gaming working stiff that my friends have grown to know and love. I haven't said much because every time I log on to DKos, I find myself simply learning and absorbing information and really reveling in the ease of access to the world beyond this sleepy little college town provided by the digital information age.
When I do speak, I try to make my words mirror my actions. Uniquely individual, pertinent to the situation at hand and concise. Note, the operative term here is try. I do what I can to back up what claims I make with anecdotal and factual evidence. When I'm wrong and called out on it, I happily chalk it up to being a learning experience and consider critics as erstwhile friends and teachers. I try to conduct myself in a way that adheres to what I see as basic tenets of common sense, decency, humility and ultimately respect for myself and my fellow person.
Admittedly, though, there are days (becoming increasingly more frequent, unfortunately) where my least damaging and oftentimes most counterproductive allergy is triggered and I just need to vent to friends and like-minded folk in the hopes I can regain my, shall we say... "stability." Said allergy, of course, is my allergy to unleaded stupidity.
This is where I lose my cool...

As a black American male, and the youngest son of a military family, Congressman Allen West is a fucking embarrassment. Massive steps toward equality have been taken in recent years including, but not limited to the inauguration of a black President and marriage equality finally being recognized in several states in this country (as opposed to the majority of the rest of the world) and here we have some loudmouthed douche-kebab acting as the rotten apple that spoils the rest of the bloody orchard!
Really, Congressman? Women who advocate for their own reproductive rights are neutering American men? These Planned Parenthood women? These Code Pink women? Guess what, buddy? Those same women are fighting not just for their own reproductive rights, but for those of the harpies you're crowing to at that meeting. Not just for conservative women, ALL women. And what's more? There are plenty of men whom I'm pretty sure still have their balls intact that are strengthened up as they go to the fight for these rights. Not fighting for women, but fighting alongside women.
Really, Congressman? Not only did you try to tie in the narrative of a culture that practiced eugenics into a discussion about reproductive rights, but you used a narrative that was not intended to be a factual statement? (see what I did there?) You were already blasted by ThinkProgress' Tanya Somanader for your ri-fucking-diculous misogyny and insanity far more putrid (not to mention less biodegradable) than the foulest bat guano. However, in the same breath, you upped the freaking ante by citing another work of historical fiction as backup for your stupidity?
This is where it hits a little closer to home, for me. Recently, I was able to trace my own lineage as far back as early 1500's Japan. Yes, I am apparently one-drop Japanese, going back to the Naito clan. The reason I mention this is because of West's attempted use of "The Last Samurai" (2003) to further illustrate his bastardization of historical bastardizations that he claims to prove his point. This imbecile actually thinks that the movie is a true story. I'm almost at a loss.
What truly stymies my attempts at rational thought when even considering this mish-mash of character flaws that ultimately results in a stew of evil-on-tap... What add insult to this onslaught of moral injury... is the last 7 seconds of this travesty.
Because if you don’t, then the debt will continue to grow…deficits will continue to grow.
So, you're still swallowing the bullshit talking point that defunding Planned Parenthood and assaulting reproductive care for women will help our economy, Congressman? Of all the garbage you spew, you want to again try linking the reproductive health debate to the tanking economy?
Perhaps what women may be aiming to neuter, in the near future, should be your political career.
To all my fellow Kossacks who've actually read this far, please forgive the outburst and the coarse language. I just needed to let it out and I thought this might be pertinent to what's going on.
