No joke...the more dramatic- be it serious or funny- the better!
A few weeks ago Newt Gingrich's campaign for (oh gosh I still can't stop laughing about this, excuse me a moment) President (cough cough gasp) released the following press release- and no they weren't joking when they sent it out
"The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding. Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment’s cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won’t be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces."

We at ProgressiveCongress.org, however, can't stop laughing. Seriously? The literati? Who the heck calls our mainstream press literati?
So now we want you to join in the fun... kinda like this
So what do you need to do? It's easy...grab a video camera or a smart phone or a flip cam and record yourself or people you know reading that press release... kinda like the
pooties did last week .
The post the video on your youtube page, tag it with #bignewt and go to the contest Facebook page or Twitter account for the announcement that voting is open. You'll have 4 days to get the votes you need to win.
What's that you ask? What can you win? Well gee I'm glad you asked (slips into Vanna White mode) you can win a brand new ipad2 but that's not all...that's right... the highest placing finished who is attending Netroots Nation will get to spend some time one on one with Rep. Raul Grijalva, co chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a video camera and start filming!
