What happens when Herman Cain goes on Glenn Beck's show? He starts to feel comfortable, like he can be himself.
And then he goes and says stuff like this.
From ThinkProgress:
BECK: So wait a minute. Are you saying that Muslims have to prove their, that there has to be some loyalty proof?
CAIN: Yes, to the Constitution of the United States of America.
This is part of a larger dialogue about Cain's earlier statement, later walked back, that he would never appoint a Muslim.
Per The Orlando Sun Sentinel, Cain's "softer" stance on Muslims is this:
Cain said he wouldn’t appoint someone who’s Muslim to his Cabinet. In interviews, he appeared to soften that a bit, though he said he wasn’t “backpedaling.” He said he might be willing to name a Muslim who disavows Sharia law, but also said he’s unaware of any Muslim who’d be willing to make such a disavowal.
Should he also not appoint any Jew unwilling to disavow the Ten Commandments? I mean, religious law is religious law, right?
And just as an aside, allowing GOP Presidential candidates to appear on Glenn Beck is a dangerously high concentration of crazy and the FCC should do something about this. It's offensive to the sane community.
