Hi everyone,
I would like to thank everyone who commented on and recommended my first diary. I printed out 70-some pages of comments for my son to read, and he was quite touched by the outpouring of support.
My son did not attend his graduation but many of our friends did. As the graduates names got to the S's, friends reported hateful excitement from those seated nearby, as attendees prepared to boo and scream curses at my son. This was followed by much bitter disappointment when his name was not called, and the audience had no chance to further make public asses of themselves. What a lovely community, eh?
My son and I...his name is Corwyn/Corrie (no point hiding it now that the ISD has released his name to the media)...were on CNN yesterday afternoon for a quick interview about sponsored prayer in public schools. I mustn't comment on the case, of course, but we have not and will not give up fighting for appropriately religion-neutral public schools.
The issue and my family will be featured in an article in an upcoming issue of Church and State magazine, and anyone who would like to sign up to receive Church and State Mag either in print or thru email may do so at au.org
The CNN interview can be seen here:

Thank you all, from myself and my entire family. Your support has been uplifting, to say the least.

12:03 PM PT: Update:
I thank you all for your comments and support. Although our local paper did have at least one positive commentary today, I'd like to leave you with a quote from the published Op-Ed by Former City Councilman Eric Cherry.
"Not too long ago, this family would have been rode out of town on a rail..."
