This is brief, because I'm just hoping to make a point that isn't too difficult to make.
The more we GROUSE about the debt deal at this point, the more it LOOKS like the GOP won.
Got that?
Do I like it? Hell no, just read some of the comments I've placed on this board in the past view days. But I am VERY concerned about the perception game, because at this point, it's all we got, and it isn't something we want to lose.
I'm already seeing too much in the media from Dems that make it look like the GOP won this battle.
Is there anything we can do at this point to improve it?
If the answer to that question is NO, then smile, do your best, call it a GREAT DEAL for Democrats and our priorities, and let it go at that.
We can fight with the dogfood commission later, and work to pulverize the balanced budget amendment.
We have our work cut out for us, but PLEASE don't make it harder by adding to the perception that the GOP bested us!
