That may not be a headline like, "KO will be Rockin' the House," but, for me, it's pretty exciting news. You see, I just registered to attend.
Now, for those who may remember, I ran for the NYS Senate in 2006 and was one of the first candidate attendees of our annual gathering. Back then, it was YearlyKos and it was our first trip to the Vegas strip. I also had the opportunity to address the convention and the photo on the right is one of my favorites from that whole campaign experience.
During that address, I talked about getting involved in campaigns...and, damn it, you did. Politics has it's ups and downs and the past couple of years, it's been tough. But 2012 is going to be incredibly important. We know what defeat in the age of TeaBagging looks like, so I don't need to tell you that the stakes couldn't be higher.
But I digress. Hop with me over the squiggle thingy.
Just so folks can remember what that first YearlyKos was like, check out this fine video by Mark Bowllan...that I had the honor to narrate.
Ah, memroies. I digress again...
In 2007, I made it to Chicago, where Christine Pelosi and I organized the first Netroots Candidate Celebration. In 2008, it was on to Austin, where we did the NCC yet again. 2009, it was Pittsburgh, and I thought I would never miss another convention...but, alas, work kept me from Vegas II and Minneapolis. I followed from afar, but it just wasn't the same as being there.
So, I've cleared away the schedule and I'm totally psyched will be making the short trip east to Providence.
I know. Why should you care if I make it or not? Well, you shouldn't but I'm excited, none the less...and it's a good reason to write this diary.
Howevah, here is something you should care about though. You should try your best to make it to visit with Markos, KO, SusanG, KagroX, and on and on. Let's make this one for the ages.
NN2012 is offering an early bird deal on registration. Take advantage of it now, or be square.
Register today and I'll see you in Providence!
